Common questions

How long is the cooling-off period?

Generally 14 days: from delivery for goods, from the day the contract was made for most services. If the trader never properly told you about the right to cancel, the period extends substantially. Sending the cancellation within the deadline is what counts – it need not have arrived by then.

Does it cover everything bought online?

Most things, with familiar exceptions: personalised and custom-made goods, sealed hygiene items once opened, perishables, and digital content once you agreed to immediate delivery. Purchases in a shop are not distance sales – returns there depend on the shop’s policy.

Is an email with this PDF enough?
