Can I cancel by e-mail with this PDF?
Many consumer contracts can be cancelled in text form, so a digitally signed PDF sent by e-mail is often enough. Check the cancellation terms of your specific contract to be sure.
How do I find my notice period?
It is stated in your contract or the provider’s terms. If you can’t find it, cancel “at the earliest possible date” – the template has a checkbox exactly for that. The provider then has to confirm the correct end date.
How do I prove that I cancelled?
Ask for written confirmation (already included in the template) and keep the PDF and the sent e-mail. For important contracts, registered mail is a good extra safeguard.
Does this work for employment or residential leases?
No. Some contracts – such as employment or residential leases in certain countries – require a handwritten signature on paper. In that case use this template as a draft and print it.
Does a cancellation letter need a handwritten signature?
For most consumer subscriptions, no – written notice by e-mail or letter is enough, and a digitally signed PDF adds clarity about who cancelled. Employment and residential tenancy notices are common exceptions with stricter statutory form rules.
What is the difference between cancelling and withdrawing from a contract?
Withdrawal (cooling-off) unwinds a recently concluded contract – in the EU and UK usually within 14 days for distance contracts. Cancellation ends an ongoing contract for the future. If your contract is only days old, check withdrawal first – Tamgara has a separate template for it.
