A sublet lets a tenant rent out part or all of their home to someone else. The written agreement sets the terms – but the first question is always whether the landlord allows it.

Do I need my landlord’s permission?

Yes. Subletting without permission risks a warning or even termination of the main lease. Get the consent in writing – the agreement has a dedicated checkbox for it.

Fixed term or open-ended?

Both work. For a temporary let simply enter an end date. Without a fixed term the sublease runs open-ended with statutory notice periods.

How much deposit can I ask for?

Local rules vary; in Germany up to three months’ base rent is customary and permitted. Enter the agreed amount in the deposit field.

Can we sign remotely?

Yes. Fill in the agreement and invite the other party to sign via a Tamgara link – ideal when the subtenant is still abroad or in another city.

Can I sublet my flat on Airbnb?

Only with your landlord’s consent – a general permission to sublet normally does not cover short-term letting to tourists, and many cities impose additional registration or zoning rules. Without consent you risk a warning or losing your lease.
