Will an email with this PDF do?

For many Maltese providers, yes – written notice by email or via the customer portal is widely accepted. The contract’s cancellation clause decides: where it requires postal notice, print the signed letter and send it by MaltaPost registered mail, keeping the receipt.

What notice period am I on?

The one in your contract – commonly around thirty days for telecoms and utilities. Unsure? Tick “earliest possible date” in the template; the provider must then come back with the correct end date in writing.

How do I prove the cancellation arrived?

Through the confirmation the letter requests, plus your own records: the signed PDF, the sent email, or the MaltaPost registered-mail receipt for anything likely to be argued about.

Can this letter end a lease or a job?

Only as a first draft. Residential leases under Maltese law have their own termination rules – a tenant’s withdrawal, for instance, must go by registered letter with statutory notice – and employment has its own framework. Check the specific rules before serving notice there.
