📴 Cancel your phone contract online – free

🇲🇹 MT

Leaving your mobile provider? The letter is completed in the browser, signed digitally and sent as PDF. Keeping the number: the new provider arranges the porting while the old account still lives – this letter then closes the old contract cleanly behind it. Free, no account.

In brief: ending a mobile contract in Malta

The provider’s terms govern the exit: notice period, channel, early-exit charges. The number is portable EU-wide – the new provider handles it, and the porting comes before the cancelling.

Questions, answered

Can my number come with me to the new provider?
Yes – number portability is standard in Malta as across the EU, and the new provider runs the process. The sequence is the thing: port first, while the old account is active, cancel second. A number on a closed account is a number at risk; a completed port normally ends the old service by itself.
Why state that the cancellation stands “regardless of porting”?
To close a loophole: without that line, the provider could treat the cancellation as conditional and keep the contract alive if the port stumbles. With it, the end date holds either way.
What notice and what costs should I brace for?
Roughly thirty days’ notice is typical once any minimum term has run – inside a minimum term, early-exit charges or remaining device instalments are the usual price. The contract states both; read before sending.
What is the letter worth if cancellation runs via portal or phone?
It fixes the facts: who cancelled, which account, effective when. Send it through whichever channel the terms accept, and file it with any reference number given – if the end date is later disputed, the dated, signed PDF is your side of the story.
