Why is the serial number so important?

The serial number identifies the bike uniquely – like the VIN on a car. It documents exactly which bike was sold and lets the buyer check stolen-bike registries such as Bike Index before paying. You usually find it stamped on the frame under the bottom bracket or on the head tube.

What should I record when selling an e-bike?

The battery: its capacity in watt-hours and the approximate number of charge cycles, if known. The battery is the most expensive wear part – clear details prevent arguments later. The charger should be noted as an accessory too; there is a dedicated checkbox for it.

Does the as-is clause cover everything?

The bill of sale contains the usual as-is clause for private sales. Important: still list known defects honestly in the condition field – misrepresented or knowingly concealed defects are not covered by the clause.

Can the buyer sign via link?
