How much does the bill of sale cost?

Is a digital signature enough for a car sale?
A private car sale can generally be signed electronically, and an electronic signature is valid under the federal ESIGN Act and your state’s e-signature law (UETA – or, in New York, the ESRA). Note that transferring the title, and any notarization, is handled through your state DMV – requirements vary by state, so many people also print the signed bill of sale.
What should a private sale document cover?
The as-is clause (no warranty), the exact odometer reading, known defects and the handover of the title and keys. The template covers all of this – you just fill in the blanks. A separate written odometer disclosure is required by federal law at title transfer for newer vehicles – generally model year 2011 and later, until they are 20 model years old (older vehicles are exempt).
Do I need to notify the DMV after selling my car?
In most states, yes. The buyer transfers the title and registers the car at the state DMV, and many states also want a release-of-liability or notice-of-transfer from the seller. File it promptly – until you do, parking tickets and fees can still land on you. Also tell your insurer about the sale.
Can the buyer sign remotely?
Yes. After filling in the bill of sale you can send it via Tamgara as a signing link. The buyer signs in the browser – no app, no account – and both parties receive the final PDF with a signature report.
